Recent Russian Strikes Dealt Heavy Blow To Data Centers In Ukraine Recent Russian strikes on Kyiv damaged several data centers and telecommunications nodes, disrupting internet service for about 100,000 households and damaging infrastructure used by major internet and hosting providers. Ukraine’s Ministry of Digital Transformation said on September 23 that the attacks had caused internet problems for roughly 100,000 households in Kyiv and the surrounding region. The disruptions followed damage to data centers operated by internet providers UTELS and Pavutina. Further strikes followed, inflicting even more damage. Crazy Network reported that a Kyiv internet traffic exchange node was struck, affecting customers in several regions, while Etherlink said its main network node was damaged on September 24 and that the company was moving its network core to another location.
