SouthFrontHouthis Struck Saudi Airport Housing Patriot and Other Air Defense Systems Yemen’s Houthis (Ansar Allah) announced on August 4 that they had carried out a drone strike on a “sensitive target” at Najran Regional Airport in southern Saudi Arabia. In a brief statement, Houthi military spokesman Brig. Gen Yahya Saree said that the attack accurately hit its intended target. He noted that the operation was launched in response to what he described as Saudi drone violations of Yemeni airspace over the provinces of Saada and Hajjah. The spokesman further warned that any future violation of Yemen’s airspace “will not pass without response and punishment.” There were no reports of any interceptions of impacts close to the airport or anywhere else in the province of Najran over the past day, although it is important to note that Saudi Arabia has been imposing very strict censorship laws, affecting even social networks.
