Son Of Israel's U.S. Ambassador Wounded in West Bank Checkpoint Attack (Videos) An Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) reservist was seriously wounded on September 23 in a car-ramming attack at a checkpoint in the central part of the occupied West Bank, and Israeli troops shot and killed the assailant, authorities said. The attack occurred at the "Bell" checkpoint, where Routes 4436 and 4437 meet Route 443 near Beit Ur and Ramallah. Israeli police said the driver accelerated toward a police vehicle and struck a reservist who was working alongside an officer. The soldier, identified as Neriya Leiter, was unconscious when treated by emergency medics and was taken to Shaare Zedek Medical Center in Jerusalem in serious condition, according to Magen David Adom. Leiter is the son of Israel's ambassador to the United States, Yehiel Leiter. His father said in a statement that medical teams were working to save his son and asked for prayers. Read more HERE
